This design began life as a conference logo I created for the Wisconsin Leadership Conference being hosted by the University of Wisconsin Department of Educational Administration.The Department's initial requests included something that would incorporate the sense of water as a central part of the campus image and that would tie in immediately with the University logos. I was designing for a committee, presenting a number of designs for consideration and then cleaning their pick for final use. The department was so pleased with the result that they decided to adopt it—modified to include the department rather than conference name, for all print and web uses.
(The Department updated the site design to bring it in line with the main University site - just in time for the University to fully revamp its own site. The department chose to use the logo on the site in modified form when it hosted the International Education Conference. On the pages for the conference itself they are also used a simple wave page edge I created at the same time.)
