2001
7 February. Navan is excited to be moving into what
seems to be a new era. In the coming touring season we'll be traveling
farther (with both performances and teaching workshops) and we're already
seeing more airplay on stations worldwide. We're busier than ever and
very happy to be that way! While we're not in front of the recording
mics just yet, we are in the process of building up repertoire for a
follow-up cd to An Cuimhin Leat (released March 2000). In particular
we're delving deeper into the Manx ballad and Scottish waulking and
work traditions. We're also brushing up on solo pieces for the upcoming
regional Fleadh Cheol competition in Detroit where we featured as special
guests in 1999 (no group singing competition!). Most of all though,
we look forward to seeing you in the coming months!
